| Server Solutions |
| We have many different server platforms available to meet different needs. Whether you require a single server acting as a file store central to your organsation, or a server which has many roles such as security, email and file serving, or a server offering a desktop for multiple persons - EVERSYS has the answer. |
File / Data Server
... a computer attached to a network that has the primary purpose of providing a location for the shared storage of files (such as documents, databases, images, etc.) that can be accessed by the workstations (PCs) attached to the network. A file server is designed primarily to enable the rapid storage and retrieval of data where the heavy computation is provided by the workstations.
Why?
- The sharing of information is key to efficient and successful business
- Gone are the days where company data is kept locally on a workstation - make sure you are protected if your local hard disk fails or your computer is stolen
Advantages
- Centralised data store allowing the sharing of information
- Security
- Backup
- Hardware fault tolerance enabling data integrity
Microsoft Windows Small Business Server
... an integrated server suite from Microsoft designed for running network infrastructure of small and medium enterprises having no more than 75 workstations or users.
Why?
- Gemeinsam nutzbare Kalenderfunktion
- Shared Fax Service
Microsoft Exchange Server
... a messaging and collaborative software solution consisting of a centralised system for email, calendaring, contacts and tasks. Furthermore, the system supports mobile users using web-based access to information.
Why?
- Share office calendar and manage appointments between colleagues
- Central contact database of customers or suppliers
- Access to emails from within and outside of the office
Key features...
- E-mail, calendar, contacts & tasks
- Mobility through web access
- Protection through inbuild anti-spam & antivirus
Terminal Server / Terminal Services
A terminal server is a specialised computer within a network, on which programs and applications are installed, for use by multiple users at the same time. Users access the terminal server via terminal clients (thin clients) or a program, where only the user interface (GUI) of an application is presented to the client. Any input to it is redirected over the network to the terminal server, where all application execution takes place.
Why?
- Save on large hardware costs and setup fees when new employees start
- Standardisation of software (and versions) across the company
- Allows a common working environment for satellite offices, remote users and home offices.
Advantages
- Reduced hardware costs
- Reduced software costs
- Standarise software
- Centralised management to ease administration
- Green IT - save enery costs (thin clients vs. PCs)
Blackberry Enterprise Server
... enables push-based access to email, calendar, contacts, tasks, etc. on BlackBerry smartphones.
BlackBerry Enterprise Server software is the link between BlackBerry smartphones, enterprise applications and wireless networks that extend communications and corporate data to your mobile users.
Why?
- Access to emails from outside of the office
- Have new appointments automatically synchronised in both your Outlook and Blackberry calendar - as and when they are added
Advantages
- Ease of communication when out of the office
- Email, calendar and contacts are immediately updated in the office and on the phone
- If the phone is lost - don't worry - all information is still save in the office
Hardware Virtualisation
Virtualisation has become a key technology in modern IT-infrastructures. Virtualisation if performed on a physical hardware platform using "host" software. Using a control program, guest software can be configured to simulate complete computer operating systems (virtual machines), as if they were running directly on the physical hardware. Access to physical system resources (e.g. network, display, keyboard, and disk storage) can be managed and restricted for each guest software. Although hardware is consolidated, typically the operating systems (OS) are not. Instead, each OS running on a physical machine becomes converted to a distinct OS running inside a virtual machine. The large physical machine can "host" many such "guest" virtual machines.
Why?
- Server consolidation - many physical machines (servers) are replaced by a single one
- Reduce costs by increasing energy efficiency with less hardware
- Easy relocatoin from one physical machine to another
- Development, sales or training purposes e.g. the virtual machine 'image' can be run on a demostration laptop or PC
- A new virtual machine can be created as and when needed, without the need for an up-front hardware purchase
- Run multiple operating systems on a single computer including Windows, Linux etc.
- Business continuity through improved disaster recovery solutions

Hyper-V is delivered free-of-charge with Microsoft Server 2008 and VMware ESXi is a free download.
